Warding Off Hexes: "Curse Wards" Quest and Crafting Guide

You've learned about curses in the "Quinn's Curse" quest line.   Now in order to fend off hexes from your Kingdom you'll need to craft some special Wards. Earn awesome rewards, each time you craft enough to fill each Spirit Bar.

Help Alastair craft wards to protect your kingdom against more advanced curse magic!  Complete "Quinn's Curse" quest 2 to unlock Curse Wards.  Note that each recipe will only unlock after you've completely filled the previous Spirit Bar.  See below for the materials required for all of the Curse Ward Recipes.

Curse Wards Quest Guide

Quest 1: A Fortunate Ward

Tasks

• Complete the Hex Protection ward by crafting enough Curse Begone to earn 1 Reward from the Spirit Bar
  • Tip: Craft this recipe 4 times to fill the Spirit Bar.  Crafting is in the Kitchen.
  • Reward: Purple Tiki Torch
• Feed 10 animals
• Fish in 2 Ponds

• 1000 Coins
• 20 XP

Quest 2: Incense Research

Tasks

• Craft Fonts of Sweet Air to fill the Spirit Bar
  • Tip: Craft 5 times to complete, in the Workshop
  • Reward: Cursed Chicken
• Craft Charm Candles to fill the Spirit Bar
  • Tip: Craft 6 times to complete, in the Studio
  • Reward: Protection Totem
• Visit 5 Neighbors

Note: Incense is commonly misspelled as insences, incence, lincenses, incences, instenses, or incents.

Rewards

• 1000 Coins
• 20 XP

Quest 3: Get Your Mojo Working

Tasks

• Craft Mojo Bags to fill the Spirit Bar
  • Craft this charm bag 5 times, in the Studio
  • Reward: Cursed Sheep
• Craft Good Luck Totems to fill the Spirit Bar
  • Craft this 6 times, in the Workshop
  • Reward: Purple Voodoo Torch
• Collect 15 Beeswax
  • Tip: Tend flowers in neighbors' kingdoms to save energy

• 1000 Coins
• 20 XP

Afterwards

There are no more quests for the hexes, but you can fill the Spirit Bar 3 more times with the remaining recipes.  Finish all the Spirit Bars to earn all the rewards!

The Spirit Bars

For each Spirit Bar, you'll need to craft a specific Ward several times to protect your Kingdom against that particular hex. Clicking on the Spirit Bar will bring up the window above, and show you which item to craft and how many.  Each time a Spirit Bar gets full it grants you a reward, and unlocks the next new recipe.  Then it resets to provide you with a new empty Spirit Bar to fill for the next reward.

Wards to Craft

Each of the Curse Ward recipes must be crafted a certain number of times to fill the Spirit Bar and earn a reward.  Complete the Spirit Bar each time in order to unlock the next item to craft and earn the next prize! See the Items below.

• 2 Vanishing Cream (post to friends)

Font of Sweet Air Recipe (Workshop, craft 5 times)

• 2 Scented Oil (ask friends)
• 6 Wood Logs
• 1 Flaxseed Oil

Charm Candle Recipe (Studio, craft 6 times)

• 10 Reputation
• 4 Beeswax
• 2 Sticks of Butter

Mojo Bag Recipe (Studio, craft 5 times)

• 3 Bottles of Mojo (ask friends)

• 2 Animal Bones

Good Luck Totem Recipe (Workshop, craft 6 times)

FAQ

Q: Where can I find the Crypt that I earned?
A: This is stored under the Buildings section of your Inventory.

Q: Why can't I craft certain Wards?
A: In order to craft the next Ward, you'll need to craft enough Wards to complete the Spirit Bar of the previous one--this will unlock the next Ward to craft. Fill up the Spirit Bar to progress and earn more prizes!

Q: Where do I find out what Ward I need to craft, and which building to craft it in?
A: All you need to do is click on the Spirit Bar, which will bring up a window and show you what Ward to craft, and a Go to Crafting button to show you the correct Building. Also see the guide above for more information.

Q: My Spirit Bar disappeared! Where'd it go?
A: If you crafted enough Voo-don't Dolls to earn the Crypt (found in the Buildings section of your Inventory), this should be the final Ward you'll need to fully protect your Kingdom against curses. See the guide above for more information.
