Tom's "Gloom Watch" Quest Guide

Help Tom fight the Gloom by joining the Gloom Watch!  Get the Duke, Rafael, and Yvette to join as well, and earn new Gloom Watch Costumes as a reward.  This 9-part quest is available to players who have completed The Lamont Swamp Quests.

Quest 1: No Need to Panic, Really

Quest Tasks

• Have 10 Eggs
• Clear away (or tend) 7 Nature Items
• Hint: Tend grass, roots, mushrooms, ferns, etc to fulfill this requirement
• Move 5 Cows

Quest 2: Gloom Watch Origins

Quest Tasks

• Pay 50,000 Coins
• Craft 3 Kegs (in the Workshop)
• Have 3 Contact Info (post to friends)

• Gloom Watch Costume for your avatar

Quest 3: A Tad Doughy

Quest Tasks

• Visit the Duke and perform 5 actions
• Consume 2 Chocolate Bars (crafted in the Kitchen)
• Have 3 Bread Dough (Crafted in the Kitchen or collected from a Bakery)

• 1500 Coins
• 30 XP

Quest 4: The Gloom Rat

Quest Tasks

• Use 5 Wood Clubs from your inventory
  • Hint: You don't need to actually clobber any beasties with them, if you don't want to.  It may seem like a waste of a perfectly good club, but you can simply "use" 5 clubs from your inventory and not do anything with them, to complete this task.
• Harvest 30 Crops
  • Hint: Harvesting crops tends to attract Gloom Rats, giving you a way to clobber them and collect Gloom Rat Tails without the use of a potion.

Quest 5: Member: Rafael

Quest Tasks

• Collect from Rafael's House 3 times
  • Hint: Rafael's House takes 30 minutes to become ready again
• Have 5 Bags of Nails (Collected from a Blacksmith, or crafted in the Workshop)
• Have 3 Scissors (post to friends)

Quest 6: The Gloom Goblin

Quest Tasks

• Craft 5 Sticks of Butter
• Tend neighbors' Mining Camps 5 times
• Consume 10 Gloom Goblin potions
• Hint: You can only have a maximum of 3 - 6 beasties in your kingdom at one time, depending on your level.  When you hit that limit, you'll need to banish at least one before you can summon any more Gloom Goblins.  However - see the next hint.
• Hint: You actually get quest credit for consuming a Gloom Goblin potion even if there are already the maximum beasties in your kingdom (as in the previous hint)!  When you "use" the potion it will immediately go back into your inventory with the message, "Too many beasties in your kingdom", without actually summoning a goblin.  But it does give quest credit.  You can complete this quest requirement by simply "using" the same Gloom Goblin potion 10 times, even though it never actually summons a goblin!
• Hint: If you need some Gloom Goblin Ears anyway, for example to craft Alchemist Powder, then summoning and clobbering a bunch of goblins here is a good way to collect some.

• Collect from Yvette's House 4 times
  • Hint: Yvette's House takes 30 minutes to become ready again
• Spend 50 Reputation
• Tend 10 Flowers in neighbors' kingdoms

Quest Tasks

• Have 5 Books (post to friends)
• Craft 6 Buttons (in the Studio)
• Have 5 Gloom Thief Cloaks

Quest Tasks

• Craft 3 Collection Boxes (in the Workshop)
• Have 40 Honey
• Have 5 Ice Cream (crafted in the Kitchen)
