"The Lamont Swamp" Quest Guide and Slimy River Cleansing Guide

Confront Lamont, the Evil Gloom Swamp Tree

Lamont: Evil Gloom Swamp Tree

Explore all the way to the source of the Gloom Swamp, and discover the secret to Lamont's power.  Learn how to cleanse the Slimy River to remove those green slime patches from your kingdom!   This quest series immediately follows the "Swamped" quests.

Tips:

  • Do not collect from the Ancient Shrine before Quest 2, or you'll have to wait 2 days to collect again for that quest.
  • You'll need to harvest 10 Cabbage, a 12 hour crop, for Quest 4.  Plant it when you're on Quest 3, or even sooner, to save time.

Quest 1: Root of the Problem



Quest tasks

  • Craft 1 Purity Talisman
  • Cleanse 1 thing trapped in Swamp Roots
  • Have 3 Swamp Boots (Post to Friends)





Quest rewards

  • 750 Coins
  • 15 XP
  • 1 Firefly Bush



Quest 2: Shrine Time



Quest tasks

  • Banish 3 of Lamont's Minions (Banish Beasties. Use Gloom Potions if Beasties do not spawn)
  • Rebuild the Ancient Shrine (just click on it)
  • Collect from the Ancient Shrine 1 time

 

Ancient Shrine produces Aquamarines

 

Ancient Shrine

  • produces 1 Aquamarine every 2 days
  • A Shrine is also known as a Temple or Altar







Quest rewards

  • 500 Coins
  • 10 XP



Quest 3: Old Faithful



Quest tasks

  • Craft 3 Wood Planks
  • Place 5 Nature items
  • Place and build a Cleansing Spring (it will appear in the Buildings section of your Inventory) 

 

Cleansing Spring produces Pails of Water

 

Cleansing Spring

  • Produces 5 Pails of Water every 6 hours

 





Quest rewards

  • 500 Coins
  • 10 XP
  • 5 Swamp Water (appearing in the Nature section of your Inventory)

 

The Slimy River will turn clear!  The green slimy river segments become clean, normal rivers.  You'll be able to move the former slime patches or even sell and remove the slimy rivers, so you can finally rearrange your kingdom as desired in the Slimy River and Gloom Swamp areas.

Quest 4: Preparation



Quest tasks

  • Harvest 10 Cabbage (12 hour crop)
  • Cleanse 3 items from the Swamp Roots
  • Craft 4 Exploration Crystals

  • 750 Coins

Quest 5: Finding Lamont



Quest tasks

  • Explore the Gloomy area with Lamont in it (see area in the image below)
    • Requires Castle Level 450, 10 Crystals, and 56000 Coins
  • Banish any 4 Beasties
  • Cleanse 3 Swamp Roots










Quest rewards

  • 500 Coins
  • 10 XP



Quest 6: Gloom Pod



Quest tasks

  • Craft 3 Purity Wands (crafted in the Studio)
  • Use Purity Wands on Lamont's 3 Gloom Pods
  • Visit 10 Neighbors 






Quest rewards

  • 500 Coins
  • 10 XP
  • 1 Gargoyle Fountain



Quest 7: Lamont's Demise



Quest tasks

  • Have 4 Purity Wands
  • Use the Purity Wands to Banish Lamont!





Quest rewards

  • 500 Coins
  • 10 XP
  • 1 Flower of Life

 

You discover that a boy named Baz is trapped inside the tree.

Quest 8: Free at Last!



Quest tasks

  • Use 3 Super Chops
  • Free the trapped boy (click on Lamont the Tree to free the boy)
  • Gain 150 new XP





Quest rewards

  • 500 Coins
  • 10 XP

The boy Baz joins your kingdom as a new subject.

I have lost my cleansing spring.  what can I do to get it back?

Try reloading the game in your browser.  Check in your inventory, in case it was accidentally put into storage.  If it's still missing, you'll need to contact Zynga tech support.  Good luck.

ok, so if you lost the cleansing spring by selling it, then it's your own fault and they won't give you another one. if you stored the item then check your inventory under decor. if it just went missing then well, good luck convincing them to give you another one. good luck!

The ancient shrine wouldn't be in your inventory.  It should appear near the green slimy patches in the gloom swamp, in the area shown in this picture:

If you still don't have it, you'll need to contact Zynga technical support.

My ancient shrine has never appeared. I went to the link you provided for castleville tech support but there is no way to report a problem. I was continually redirecred to vote for other problems. Do you have any suggestions as to how to report this issue?

You get the Gloom Watch Board as a reward for completing part 1 of Tom's Gloom Watch Quest.  That quest line should be unlocked for you after you finish the Lamont Swamp quests.
